Week 1 - Reflection (Introduction to The Course)

Hello!

We've officially begun our lectures this week. In fact, our lectures should start last week (5th Sept - 9th Sept) but we've got the news that our course lecturer, Mr. Norsarihan was down with chicken pox. Ouch! Been there, done that. I could almost imagine the agony of trying NOT to scratch your body all the time. Luckily, he's back this week so therefore, our lectures could commence as usual. *Fingers crossed*

Back to the point now. Our first lecture consisted mainly of seemingly brief explanation of the course outline. Mr. Norsarihan explained what was expected of us through "Educational Technology" and also the tasks of which we need to complete in this particular course. Truth to be told, I am so glad the weightage of the course subject is much lighter compared to the previous semester. In fact, "Educational Technology" is the follow-up of "Computer in Education". Never in my wildest dream that I would eventually take up any sort of ICT-related courses again. Well, since it has been made compulsory for us, I need to make full use out of it and gain as much knowledge as well as skills as I can. Fighting!

Next, he proceeded to explain the differences between Web 1.0, Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 as well as the evolution of ICT over the past few decades. He further elaborated on the integration of ICT into education (In our case, it's the teaching profession) and the need to equip oneself with ICT-based knowledge as well as skills for future advancement.

Then, we're told to:-
  1. Create a new blogspot/ Recycle used blogspot (-)
  2. Customise the blogspot (/)
  3. Complete a profile picture (/)
  4. Write weekly reflections (/)
  5. Create a podcast with voice recording (/)
  6. Follow our course lecturer's blogspot (/)
  7. Create a Wikispace account (/)

So far so good. I managed to complete all the "tasks" required without much problems. I hope that I could gain more insights regarding ICT in the upcoming weeks. Hopefully, I could complete this mission of mine alive! Just joking...

That's all, folks!
